Unreal Tournament 3 Now Open on Xbox 360
A late, gimped version arrives on Microsoft’s system.

Unreal Tournament 3 for Xbox 360.

Back when we reviewed it on the PlayStation 3, we noted that Unreal Tournament 3 was a pretty fair effort – it looked great and had addictive gameplay – likely to be held up long after release thanks to the mod support.  Thanks to a lot of restrictions on Microsoft’s part, Epic had to throw out a lot of that – including said mod support and mouse and keyboard compatibility – in order to finally deliver it on the Xbox 360.  Oh, and if you want to play online, you’ll of course have to have an Xbox Live subscription...but best not to open that can of worms.  On the upside, Midway today announced that the game has shipped, complete with five exclusive maps, two exclusive characters, 2-player split screen multiplayer and, in a wonderful bit of corporate shilling, a Gears of War 2 multiplayer video.  For more information on Unreal Tournament 3 for the Xbox 360, be sure to check out the official press release below:

Xbox 360 owners will get an exclusive video preview of Gears of War 2, the eagerly anticipated sequel to the 4.7 million unit-selling blockbuster third-person action game, included on the Unreal Tournament 3 disc. The exclusive video content will include never-before-seen footage of the game's multiplayer modes featuring new maps, new modes, new weapons and new gameplay elements. The video is narrated by Epic Games' design director, Cliff Bleszinski, and Gears of War senior producer, Rod Fergusson.
