Square Enix announced this morning that it plans to self-publish three previously-announced RPGs on Xbox 360, including Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant, and Star Ocean: The Last Hope, in North America.
The tri-Ace developed Infinite Undiscovery (pictured) will be released first, on September 2nd, 2008, and will be exclusive to the Xbox 360. This will be followed by an European launch on September 5th, with Japan getting the game last on September 11th.
Following that will be The Last Remnant, which Square Enix plans to ship for Xbox 360 globally this Winter, and sometime later on PlayStation 3 as well. Finally, Star Ocean: The Last Hope (also developed by tri-Ace) will ship globally for the Xbox 360 sometime in 2009. Interestingly enough, Star Ocean: The Last Hope wasn't explicitly listed as an Xbox 360 exclusive in the press release like Infinite Undiscovery was, perhaps lending credibility to previous rumors that the game will eventually come to PlayStation 3 at a later date.
"Square Enix is expanding on its commitment to deliver exciting gaming experiences to our fans all around the world," said John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix, Inc. and Square Enix, Ltd. "INFINITE UNDISCOVERY, THE LAST REMNANT and STAR OCEAN: The Last Hope represent significant steps in bringing our titles to a global audience and to make each new release a global event."
