When Microsoft revealed that it will begin delisting underperforming Xbox Live Arcade titles, our question was what happens when someone that has already bought a delisted game needs to re-download it. Although we assumed that Microsoft would keep the titles on the server for re-downloading, we still wanted clarification on this very important issue. Fortunately, Microsoft quickly set the record straight.
Via show #280 of Major Nelson's podcast, at around 60:35 Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg confirmed that gamers will be able to re-download delisted titles. He also confirmed that additional support for things like leaderboards will continue as well, as well as game sharing where purchases can be made via friend recommendations. So technically there will still be a way to purchase delisted titles via word of mouth.
