The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

The demo disc accompanying the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine holds a surprise for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion owners - it includes both the Wizard's Tower and Thieves Den quests for free!

As you may recall, the Wizard's Tower is located high in the Jeral Mountains, and provides an indoor botanical garden, teleportation to every Mage's Guild, a new Spell/Recharge vendor in the Imperial City, a lab, and of course a breathtaking view of Cyrodiil from the highest point in the land.

The Thieves Den is perfect for stealth-based characters, giving characters a chance to recruit their own pirate crew, hire vendors, and explore an ancient pirate ship. It also adds 45 new items and 15 new spells to the game.

Of course these aren't technically free, especially if you pick up the magazine just for these two quests. In fact, if you do that you'd actually be paying more for them. However, the magazine also includes several pages worth of screens and information on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Shivering Isles, worth the price of purchase alone for any Oblivion nerd (myself included). Aside from all of the juicy gameplay details, the big news is that the expansion pack will be available both at retail and via download, making it accessible to even non-broadband subscribing gamers.
