New York, NY, December 21, 2011 – By utilizing her creativity, performance skills and copy of Yoostar 2 for the Kinect for Xbox 360, Cynthia Bell of Charlotte North Carolina, was able to reinvent a 1-minute scene from this summer’s science fiction blockbuster, Super 8, and turn it into $50,000.  Thousands of entries were submitted into the Acting With the Stars contest, but the grand prize winner stood out from the crowd with her unique comedic performance.

“My whole family loves to perform and be creative and Yoostar gives us the opportunity to do both in a very cool and fun way,” said Cynthia Bell, Acting With the Stars Grand Prize Winner.  “Many thanks to Yoostar for a great game and wonderful prize!”

Nicholas Reichenbach, Chief Content Officer, Yoostar Entertainment Group added, “Cynthia did an amazing job reimagining the scene and delivering a fun performance.  It’s contributions like this that make Yoostar Social an incredibly fun place to view, share, rate and award user-generated content created in the Yoostar universe.”

The eight week contest, Acting With the Stars, ran from June 1 – July 26, 2011 and awarded a total of $58,000 in prize money for the best interpretations of scenes taken from this summer’s biggest blockbuster movies including Fast Five, Bridesmaids, Thor, Kung Fu Panda 2, Super 8, Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon and Captain America

Each week a new scene was made available for free download on the Xbox Live Marketplace and on Xbox.com.  The Yoostar 2 community entered the contest by performing the scene using the on-screen teleprompter or improvising their own performance, then uploading it to the contest page on Facebook where all their friends and family could view their performance.  Each week, the top 20 most viewed clips were judged by the official Yoostar Editorial Team; the best performer won $1,000 and was entered into the finals for the chance to win the grand prize of $50,000.

Yoostar 2 is a console game for the Kinect for Xbox 360 and the PlayStation® 3 computer entertainment system that is played on the user’s television and connects to the Internet.  It brings the magic and fun of Hollywood sets to living rooms everywhere.  Yoostar 2 makes it possible for players to insert themselves into famous movie and TV scenes, starring alongside, or in place of, their favorite actors. Players choose scenes from a wide variety of movie genres; a built-in teleprompter displays actor’s lines in English, Spanish, French, Italian, or German; an outline of the original actor’s body shows players where to position themselves before the camera rolls.  For added fun, performers can even toss the script and improvise.

Yoostar includes a growing web of interconnected social networks that link Yoostar performers across Facebook user pages, Yoostar Social, Twitter, Yoostar.com, Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network and YouTube.

Yoostar 2 is currently available at all leading retail outlets throughout North America.  Cynthia’s winning performance is currently available on Yoostar Social: https://social.yoostar.com/#/videoDetails?pid=79290.
