Microsoft's just-completed press conference (which we covered in detail here) was largely focused on the Kinect, and the company used the platform to finally reveal most of the details surrounding the device.
The Kinect will launch initially in North America on November 4th, with a worldwide launch to follow, and will launch with 15 titles to start. Several third parties are expected to have titles ready at launch, including Ubisoft with Your Shape and MTV Games with Dance Central. Microsoft itself is also publishing a range of titles starting with Kinect: Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports, Kinect Joy Ride, and Kinectimals. These will be followed by titles such as Star Wars Kinect in 2011.
In addition to games, the Zune app on Xbox 360 will take advantage of Kinect, allowing you to start, stop and pause content by either moving your hands or by speaking. Video Kinect will allow for voice chat and sharing Bing-branded media, and video from ESPN will also utilize the device to allow for real-time voting, trivia, etc. as you watch.
Unfortunately the one detail we wanted to hear more than any other, price, was not revealed.
